CHRISTMAS HAUL AND DECEMBER RECAP

Stacking The Shelves is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks! Hosted by Tynga’s Reviews.

WORD COUNT: 606 448

According to How Long to Read I read 606 448 words in December. I didn't have much reading time past month, so this is the lowest number of pages I have read since I started to do monthly word count in my recap posts. Hopefully, next month will be better for me in that regard.

CHRISTMAS HAUL:

(lluminae / Six of Crows)

(Red Rising / Golden Son / One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest / Voyager)

EBOOKS (READ):

..

No panic. 3.5 stars is a good rating. It means that overall I did enjoy this book. However, writing-wise, Oblivion is no masterpiece. (I could live without all those repetitive phrases that author used.) But it reminded me why I fell in love with Lux series all those years ago in the first place and feel motivated to finish this series and read final instalment.

Once again conclusion to series (that I love) written by JLA did not satisfy me. I enjoyed banters (it is Daemon after all) but overall I didn't love this book because it didn't reached the level of awesomeness from previous instalments. Sad times.

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman & Meagan Spooner (3 STARS)
I liked writing and characters but story...not so much. Full review later!
This story had „How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days“ vibe and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. It was funny, light and enjoyable – it had everything I like about leisure contemporary read.

DNF-IED BOOK & RE-READ:

.

This is perfect example of „it’s me not you“ kind of book. Full review to come next month.

I read this more than two years ago so now I needed to remind myself what had happened before I started book #5.

FUTURE READ:

Seeing Teaser Trailer for 11.23.63 TV show by Hulu reminded me that I still haven't read the book by Stephen King. I plan to rectify it very soon and start it by the end of this year!

I also didnt have idea about the show, I stumbled upon 11.22.63 trailer accidentally and I am glad I did because it looks really good and now I have motivation to finally read the book before show starts :)
I'm so curious to see why you DNF'd The Girl From Everywhere. I'm looking forward to reading it myself... though I'm not honestly a bit hesitant. LOL. Great Christmas haul!! Six of Crows and Illuminae are both on my READ THIS ASAP list. :)

I was bored by The Girl From Everywhere, it just wasn't holding my attention :/ I will post my review in January. But I seem to be the only one feeing this way so who knows, maybe you would feel differently about it! And I already started Illuminae and it is REALLY good :)
Belated Merry Christmas! I hope you had a good weekend!

Great haul :) Enjoy all your new reads!

Belated Merry Christmas, Lusia! I still need to read Origin and Opposition and I plan to read Six of Crows and These Broken Stars.
Squeeeeeeeee Six of Crows! I've been trying to get everyone I know to read that book xD So good, definitely one of my favorites. Merry Belated Christmas, and Happy New Year :D

Happy New Year to you to, Alise! I wish you many personal achievements and I hope you will read plenty of great books :)
So I was in love with the Lux series when it first came out but I haven't read the last book -- I should probably re-read because I remember loving books 1, 2 and 3 but I can't bring myself to do it yet because I'm worried I won't like it as much as I once did! Sounds like a silly reason but I've thought this!!

Actually, I postponed reading last book in Lux serious because of the same reason as you mentioned. Unfortunately, my worries became real. I didn't like it as much as I once did when I re-read first books and JLA seriously lost her touch in last book (it was so cheesy) :/
